Deacon John was ordained on 12 May 2001 in Trenton, New Jersey and ministered at St Mary of the Lakes in Medford, New Jersey. He was transferred by his company to San Diego in 2004 and began ministering at St Therese of Carmel (William of York) in February 2005. He holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He is a Radar Systems Engineer by training, and retired in 2021 as a Technical Fellow at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems in Poway. Happily married for 30 years to his wonderful wife Jean; God didn’t bless them with children. He is the baptism coordinator and supports many of the Liturgical Ministries (Altar Servers, Lectors, Extra Ordinary Ministers of Communion and Ministers of Hospitality). He also teaches many of the O.C.I.A. classes. (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, formerly RCIA). He is passionate about God, scripture and church history and enjoys discussing them with anyone who is interested.
