WELCOME!
St. Thérèse of Carmel Parish is called by Jesus Christ to know, love and serve Him. Our mission is to be a welcoming Catholic community by living our faith more fully, sharing our faith freely, and transforming our world through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The foundation of our parish is strengthened through worship and the sacraments. We strive to deepen our relationship with Christ and to meet the needs of others through a variety of ministries that include evangelization, education, spiritual enrichment and service in our growing community.
Guided by the example of our patroness, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, we seek to do small things well for the glory of God.
JOIN OUR FAITH COMMUNITY
A parish is an important part of the Catholic Church. The parish is where we continue the mission of Jesus Christ. This is where we publicly express our faith and join together to give proof of our communion with God.
Are you registered at St. Thérèse of Carmel?
Often people may attend Mass at a certain parish for several years, but never register. When a pastor accepts the registration, he also accepts the responsibility of your spiritual care. For instance, if a person were sick or dying, that Parish priest has the responsibility for anointing that person. Parish registration creates a two-fold obligation: on one hand, the pastor is obligated to support the mission and needs of the parish and its parishioners; on the other hand, the individual takes on the obligation to support the mission and needs of the parish and his/her fellow parishioners.
Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to be part of a Catholic community and to make a commitment to the life of St. Thérèse of Carmel Parish. Being a registered parishioner makes the process much easier when you wish to participate in a parish ministry, or when it is time for infant baptism, weddings, when asked to be a baptismal or confirmation sponsor, and even funerals. A registered parishioner receives all parish mailings. Once you are registered, please notify the parish office of should there be any changes in address or phone number.
Our parish does not receive any funding from elsewhere and therefore relies on Parishioners to fund its day-to-day running. Donations at Mass form our most significant source of funding for regular expenses. Just like our homes, the parish has expenses for utilities, maintenance to the Church, Parish offices, Parish Hall, and outdoor areas. We are grateful to the many parishioners who understand this and generously support the Parish financially through Sunday envelopes or online giving, but this is everyone’s responsibility. Your donations to the church and the mission of the church are recorded in your Parish Profile and at the end of each year, a tax statement will be mailed to you.
We register in a Parish as a way to enhance a sense of belonging to the church community. To register is also a statement that you are a practicing Catholic and entitles you to receive the Sacraments of Baptism (or a parent in the case of a child), First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, or Holy Matrimony.
St. Thérèse of Carmel is so gifted with many wonderful people who have lived Parish life in an admirable way! We are so proud of our liturgical ministers, our school and Faith Formation families, our music ministers, the caring people of our parish who work with the bereaved, the sick, our children and teens, all those who participate in the Holy Mass, Sacraments and devotions…. and we invite you to be ONE with us!
