A MESSAGE FROM FATHER CHRIS

Dear Neighbor,

Fr. Chris Tozzi

Fr. Chris Tozzi

Thank you for stopping by the St. Thérèse of Carmel Parish website. I’m Fr. Chris Tozzi and I am very fortunate to be the current pastor.  St. Thérèse of Carmel is a welcoming Catholic Community with a rich history of “putting skin on the Gospel”.  Since the parish was first founded by Fr. George Byrne back in July of 1985 (as St. William of York) the parish community has consistently been one of action, doing whatever needed to be done to help facilitate the spiritual life of the community or reaching out to help those in need.  Fr. Nicholas Dempsey, my immediate predecessor, led the efforts, in collaboration with the Sisters of the Union-Chrétienne de Saint Chaumond, to establish our school, Notre Dame Academy, and to build the current facilities, for which the community is deeply grateful.  I arrived in July of 2017 and have enjoyed getting to know the members of the community and finding my place in our parish’s history.  My goal since my arrival has been to continue to promote a rich experience of parish life and to facilitate the continued spiritual growth of the community.  As fate would have it my first real challenge here has been to manage our response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.  Despite the many challenges and restrictions this pandemic presents us with, our parish is open for business and we are doing everything we can to balance the needs of the Sacred Liturgy with the community's health and safety needs.  For those of you who are new to the community, welcome.  We all look forward to getting to know you.

God Bless,

Fr. Chris Tozzi, Pastor
