Angel Tree

BE AN ANGEL FOR CHRISTMAS 2021!

 November 27 - December 12, 2021

We are grateful for the ways God has blessed us and, as Christians, we want to share with those in need. From November 27th to December 12th, the Parish Guild is sponsoring its annual “Angel Tree” project.  Angel Christmas trees will be in our church filled with angels that represent someone who needs your help. Our partners in giving are filled with gratitude for the generous hearts of the St. Therese of Carmel parish community and our bountiful Angel Tree donations.

The charities that are represented by our Angel Trees are described below.  Please click on the name of the charity for more information.

  1. Donate for Gently Hugged – Babies: Donated gently used or new clothing in Preemie to 12-month sizes along with blankets and accessories (hats, socks, bibs) are being collected. The need is even greater during these challenging times, and we depend on your generous contributions that sustain us into the New Year. These gifts of hope provide peace of mind for families who are unable to supply essential items for their newborns.
  2. Donate for San Diego Military Outreach Ministry – Serving active duty junior enlisted families (E5 and below). Everything is given free in appreciation for your service. Families can visit the Center to pick up (free of charge) children’s (under age 12) clothing, infant diapers, baby food, toys, small household items and furniture.
  3. Donate for Catholic Charities – Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego exists to exemplify the scriptural values of mercy and hospitality by witnessing the gospel message contained in “Matthew 25:“; to advocate for a just society by calling individuals and institutions to action on behalf of the poor, the vulnerable and the marginalized; and to acknowledge the sacredness of the human person by accompanying those we serve on their journey toward achieving their full potential as persons created in the image and likeness of God.
  4. Donate for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station – We are committed to providing our warriors with quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing designed to assist them and their families during recovery. Warrior Foundation Freedom Station assists four main groups of warriors: The seriously injured returning home from war; Those suffering from post-traumatic stress (PTS) and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI); Those undergoing physical or occupational therapy; Transitioning warriors who have been medically retired and remain in our community.

Be an ANGEL, take an angel ornament and fulfill a wish for someone in need. Gifts need to returned by December 12 so that the organizations can distribute gifts in time for Christmas.
