Angel Tree Project 2020

Angel Tree

This year, our annual ANGEL TREES will be VIRTUAL.

 December 4 - December 18, 2020

We are grateful for whatever blessings we all have. And as Christians, we also want to share with those in need. The Charities are filled with gratitude for the giving hearts of the St. Therese of Carmel parishioners and the bountiful Angel Tree donations.

The various charities have links for their “Wish List” via Amazon Wish List, or Walmart Wish List. As an option, the Parish Office will have boxes for each charity and you may drop off your gifts, gift cards, or checks during Parish Office hours, or you can mail them to St. Thérèse of Carmel Catholic Church: 4355 Del Mar Trails Rd, San Diego, CA 92130.

The charities that are represented by our virtual Angel Trees are described below.  Please click on the name of the charity for more information.

  1. Donate for Gently Hugged – Babies: Donated gently used or new clothing in Preemie to 12-month sizes along with blankets and accessories (hats, socks, bibs) are being collected. The need is even greater during these challenging times, and we depend on your generous contributions that sustain us into the New Year. These gifts of hope provide peace of mind for families who are unable to supply essential items for their newborns.
  2. Donate for San Diego Military Outreach Ministry – Serving active duty junior enlisted families (E5 and below). Everything is given free in appreciation for your service. Families can visit the Center to pick up (free of charge) children’s (under age 12) clothing, infant diapers, baby food, toys, small household items and furniture.
  3. Donate for Catholic Charities Refugee Services – Refugee Families (in the U.S. legally and counseled by Catholic Charities) are in need of household & personal essentials as they move out of shelters into empty apartments e.g. strollers, pack ’n play, clothing, linens, kitchen and bath items. Many families have lived for years in poor conditions, in Refugee Camps, and/or made their way through foreign countries to get here.
  4. Donate for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station – We are committed to providing our warriors with quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing designed to assist them and their families during recovery. Warrior Foundation Freedom Station assists four main groups of warriors: The seriously injured returning home from war; Those suffering from post-traumatic stress (PTS) and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI); Those undergoing physical or occupational therapy; Transitioning warriors who have been medically retired and remain in our community.

Let us pray and ponder how we can make this Christmas a time for joy in giving to those are in need.
