Cub Scout Ranks
The Bobcat rank is for all boys who join Cub Scouting. To earn this rank, the scouts learn and say the Cub Scout Promise, Law of the Pack, and Cub Scout Motto. Tell what Webelos means (WEll BE LOyal Scouts). Show the Cub Scout sign, handshake, and salute. |
Tiger Cub (1st Grade) - This program of fun and exciting indoor/outdoor activities consists of 5 family activities, 5 den activities, and 5 "Go-See-It" outings. |
Wolf Cub (2nd Grade) - To acheive the Wolf Badge, a boy must pass 12 acheivements involving simple physical and mental skills. |
Bear Cub (3rd Grade) - There are 24 Bear achievements in four categories. The Cub Scout must complete 12 of these to earn the Bear badge. These requirements are somewhat more difficult and challenging than those for Wolf rank. Same amount of fun is included. |
Webelos (4th Grade) - A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelos den. This is the first step in his transition from Webelos cub to Boy Scout troop. As he completes the requirements found in the Webelos Handbook, he will work on activity badges, attend meetings, and become familiar with Boy Scout requirements. |
The highest award in Cub Scouts is earned by Webelos that have been active participants in their den and are ready to join a Boy Scout troop. |
