PRAYING FOR VOCATIONS IS THE MOST POWERFUL WAY TO SUPPORT VOCATIONS!
The purpose of the Elijah Cup is to provide a focal point for prayer.
The Elijah Cup, a consecrated chalice, provides the focal point of prayer in our parish for vocations. Each Sunday at one of our Masses a family or individual is called forward to receive the Elijah Cup to take home, placing it in a place of honor for a week.
Each day for a week, during prayer time, they pray for an increase and perseverance of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. At the end of the week, the Elijah Cup is returned to the church for another family or individual to participate. The commitment is small---the reward everlasting.
